This Storyboard uses the rules for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, SECOND edition. Yes, at the time this was created, a THIRD edition was on the way, and in the future, we may allow 3rd edition player characters, however, at this time, please use 2nd edition characters, to keep the confusion down to a minimum. This, like all the storyboards on Forsaken Realms, is basically freeform. However, with that in mind, there are a few rules we ask that you follow: 1. Dungeons & Dragons characters only, please. AND, though you may be tempted to play a Dragon or Pit Fiend, please keep your character realistic. Though we will probably not remove your character from play, (or bann you if you become disruptive) we assure you that a level 20/20 fighter/mage will probably be ignored by the rest of the players. Keeping levels down to about 5th or below insures fair play. Also, though you MAY play a race not listed in the players handbook or relevant sources (like the humanoid book), it is likely that you will not mesh with the rest of the players if you do not. This leads to bad storyline, and you will probably find yourself ignored. 2. Please do not attempt to start another storyline while the current one is running. This means that if somebody in the room is already on a "quest" or something similar, we ask that you join with that quest or plot or whatever, and not initiate another one until it is completed. Note that a simple sub plot to get your character INTO the current plot is acceptable. 3. Your character is not a god. He or She will get hit, and will not be able to Block, duck, dodge, or sidestep EVERY attack. Conflict and anticipation is ESSENTIAL to a good story, and if your character is invincible, chances are, you will ruin the story. 4. Please respect your fellow RPGers. This storyboard uses C&E style roleplaying. This means that if you attack another player, for instance if your character "Holgash" attacks "Blon" then Blon's player gets to decide what happens. This can be anything from sidestepping your attack and laughing at you to taking it in the kidney and dying. see rule 3. |
